Keeping The Dream Alive: The NWA Dream Keepers

Students / Dream Keepers carrying their banner during an MLK march

The NWA Dream Keepers is a Youth Organization that is open to any youth between the ages of 12-19. The MLK Dream Keeper’s Program gives young people the opportunity to learn leadership skills, learn more about the philosophy and teachings of Dr. King and to make a positive difference in the community through teamwork.

Young people commit themselves to a nonviolent lifestyle as members of the Dream Keepers. The youth work in their schools and communities on original projects developed by the King Commission that promote violence reduction.

They serve as positive role models to their peers, as speakers at community events, and as leaders of neighborhood improvement programs. The members of the MLK Dream Keepers would like to invite any young person to join the Northwest Arkansas MLK Dream Keepers.

You can join by requesting and completing a Dream Keepers Application from the advisor, Dr. John L Colbert at jcolbert78@gmail.com.

Our meetings are held the 2nd Sunday of each month at 3:00 pm at St. James Baptist Church, 764, West North Street, Fayetteville, AR.
